We Explore Nature: Snow

  • Program goals
    • Offer a program for 4K kids not in school
    • Encourage families to explore outside
    • Learn about snow
    • Develop early literacy skills
    • Motor control - scissors
    • Attendance: 25
  • Evaluation

      • Attendance: 30
      • Connections/Feedback: Several new families and a very nice collection of 4K kids and homeschoolers.
      • Notes: I wasn't as prepped for the magic puffing snow, but it was still super fun and messy!
Project 1: Snowflakes (10-10:15)
Kids cut out snowflakes. Youngest can simply fold and snip, older kids can do fancier things.

Supplies
  • white paper (different types, tracing paper, etc.)
  • scissors
  • ribbon and tape (to hang up snowflakes)
Storytime/Snacktime: 10:15-10:40
Collect everyone with the Storytime Song, ask parents to pass out snack.

I got this recipe from Fun at home with kids. We didn't use food coloring.

  • citric acid powder
