Miss storytime? You can practice many of the early literacy concepts we use in storytime at home! Don't forget to sign up for text alerts so you can make it to the next storytime!

Theme: We are the dinosaurs!

Use the five early literacy practices; talking, singing, reading, playing and writing with these books and projects!

TALK about dinosaurs. You can find books about dinosaurs in the new animals section in the picture books, or in the juvenile nonfiction (back towards the family bathroom) under 567.9

Get ready to WRITE by drawing! You can use markers or crayons to decorate your dinosaur

SING along with Laurie Berkner to "We are the Dinosaurs" online or on her cd Whaddya Think of That?

PLAY with your dinosaur! After you have decorated it, make up some stories - what is the dinosaur doing? What does he say? Does he just roar or can he talk?

READ some of these stories about dinosaurs
